CyteEditor was born from a deep dissatisfaction with existing rich text editors. After pasting from Word documents, most mainstream editors lose text styles, table styles — including border styles, cell formatting, and text styling within tables — and paragraph hierarchy. When pasting documents containing multiple images, some editors even convert the entire content — text and images alike — into a single large image, making the text unselectable and disrupting paragraph formatting.

"Cyte" is a coined blend of "cyber" (the digital world) and "text" — Cy from cyber, te from text. It points directly to our core mission: text editing in the digital world. Before CyteEditor, rich text editors were either feature-incomplete or offered superficial framework integration. We chose the name "Cyte" as a reminder to ourselves: text editing in the digital world deserves to be done right — not merely usable, but professional, complete, and built to last.

Driven by these real-world pain points, we set out to build an editor with complete editing capabilities as its core mission — from professional-grade table editing, intelligent paste fidelity, and multi-format import/export, to native adapters for five major frameworks.
